The Parts Manager at Tate Branch Autoplex Carlsbad is a full-time position, with a base pay plus commission opportunity, in the auto industry:

Key responsibilities of a dealership parts manager:

  • Inventory Management:

    • Accurately forecasting and ordering parts to maintain optimal stock levels, preventing shortages or overstocking. 

       

    • Monitoring inventory levels and identifying slow-moving or obsolete parts. 

       

    • Managing parts storage and organization to ensure easy access. 

       

  • Customer Service:

    • Assisting customers in finding the correct parts for their vehicles. 

       

    • Providing accurate pricing information and quotes. 

       

    • Handling customer inquiries and complaints related to parts. 

       

  • Sales Management:

    • Setting sales goals for the parts department and tracking progress. 

       

    • Developing and implementing strategies to increase parts sales. 

       

    • Motivating and coaching the parts sales team. 

       

  • Team Leadership:

    • Hiring, training, and supervising parts specialists. 

       

    • Delegating tasks and responsibilities to the parts team. 

       

    • Evaluating performance and providing feedback to staff. 

       

  • Vendor Management:

    • Negotiating pricing and terms with parts suppliers 

       

    • Maintaining relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery of parts 

       

  • Financial Management:

    • Monitoring department expenses and profitability 

       

    • Preparing reports on parts sales and inventory levels 

       

    • Identifying cost-saving opportunities 

       

Required skills for a dealership parts manager:

  • Technical knowledge: Thorough understanding of automotive parts and systems 

     

  • Sales skills: Excellent customer service and ability to close deals 

     

  • Leadership skills: Effective team management and motivation 

     

  • Analytical skills: Ability to interpret data and make informed decisions regarding inventory management 

     

  • Computer proficiency: Familiarity with parts ordering systems and dealership management software 

Compensation & Benefits

The compensation for this position is $3000 to $6000 per month, paid semimonthly. Additional benefits include health insurance, a discount on parts at Tate Branch Autoplex Carlsbad, and opportunities for growth and development within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all customer inquiries are responded to in a timely and professional manner.

• Help keeping orderly shop, receiving, stocking, and cataloging of parts.

• Provide knowledgeable advice and ideas on product selection and pricing to customers.

• Process invoices, orders, and payments in a timely and accurate manner.

• Diagnose customer needs and offer solutions.

• Maintain accurate inventory records.

• Help increase sales and customer loyalty.

• Respond to customer inquiries and provide product features/benefits and applicable discounts.

• Communicate closely with sales staff and other departments to ensure customer's requests are handled promptly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.

• Previous experience in customer service or sales (preferably in an automotive industry).

• Working knowledge of parts and supplies for US-made and imported light trucks and passenger cars.

• Strong sales, communication, and customer service skills.

• Good computer, phone, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Valid driver's license.
