Under the general direction of the Chief, Human Resources Bureau (CEA, Level A), the Staff Services Manager (SSM) III serves as the Branch Manager and is responsible for the overall management of the Personnel Operations Branch. This branch includes the Personnel Operations Section which oversees the Personnel Transactions Unit and the Position Control staff; the Medical Management Services Section which oversees the Employee Assistance Program, Ergonomic Program, various medical leave programs, Reasonable Accommodation Program, Worker's Compensation, and the Health and Safety committee; and the Performance Management Section, which oversees progressive discipline and employee performance. This position is responsible for developing department-wide personnel policy, overseeing HR special projects, and providing direct technical consultation to management on a wide variety of personnel issues including personnel transactions, position control, medical management services, and performance management.


Travel required up to 10% of the time.
