We are seeking a Business Immigration Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This role requires a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for immigration law. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a variety of business immigration matters, working closely with attorneys, clients, and government agencies. This is a full-time, permanent position with competitive compensation and benefits.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and file non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions and applications, including but not limited to H-1B, L-1, TN, E-3, O-1, EB-1, PERM, and adjustment of status applications.
2. Gather, organize and analyze data and supporting documents in preparation for the filing of applications and petitions.
3. Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda on various immigration law issues.
4. Communicate effectively with clients, including high-level corporate personnel, to gather necessary information and documents, answer questions, and keep them informed about case progress.
5. Liaise with government agencies, such as USCIS, DOL, and DOS, regarding case status and potential issues.
6. Maintain and update case management system and client files, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
7. Stay updated on changes in immigration law and procedure, and attend continuing legal education programs.
8. Assist attorneys with complex case planning and issue spotting.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree preferred; paralegal certification preferred
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Immigration Paralegal, with a proven track record of success in handling a variety of business immigration cases.
3. Strong knowledge of immigration law and procedure, and experience with a wide range of non-immigrant and immigrant visa categories.
4. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in clear, accessible language.
5. High level of organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
6. Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve legal issues efficiently and effectively.
7. Proficiency in using legal research tools, immigration case management software, and standard office software (Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, etc.).
8. Excellent client service skills, with the ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
9. Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
