Job Description

The Cafe Manager will help launch a new concept, Volta Cafe. You’ll help launch and manage the first Volta Cafe, serving iced beverages and nutritional smoothies in an inviting environment.

Join Volta to make a huge impact on a small, dynamic team. This position is full-time, in person, at our cafe in Wedgewood Houston, reporting to the Founder and supervising the cafe staff of baristas and servers.

Key Responsibilities:

• LAUNCH THE VOLTA CAFE: Work with the Founder to develop and execute a detailed launch plan, building out an inviting, beautiful space that is ready to serve high volumes of fresh energy drinks and nutritious beverages. 
• FRONT OF HOUSE OPERATIONS: Oversee the front of house including mixing drinks, stocking the drink bar and maintaining the equipment. This position will be a mix of management and hands on responsibilities.
• MANAGE THE TEAM: Hire, onboard and manage all cafe staff, including baristas and servers. You’ll keep the team trained on company standards, menu offerings, customer service expectations and operational procedures, including scheduling and payroll.
• SUPPLIER PARTNERSHIPS: Establish relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely deliveries of high-quality ingredients and products. Manage inventory and place orders in advance to prepare for the cafe opening and ongoing operations.
• CAFE MARKETING: Develop and execute pre-launch marketing campaigns to build excitement and awareness on social media and local publications, culminating in a Memorial Day launch party. 
• CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE MANAGEMENT: Create a welcoming, friendly atmosphere for guests to enjoy our space. This should be a great space to hang out, catch up with friends or enjoy down time.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of food and beverage experience. 1+ year of supervisor/manager experience. 
• Must be available to work in person (Wedgewood Houston - Nashville, TN).

Compensation & Benefits:

Annual compensation range $50,000 - $65,000 base salary, plus a percentage of revenue performance bonus.
