Mesa presently has an opportunity for a Substation Structural Design Engineer.This role provides an excellent opportunity to excel with innovative ideas and creative problem solving.This unique position involves development of Power Utility standards, and involves application of latest design software and techniques, for application to state-of-the-art Power Substation design.The successful candidate will represent the Civil-Structural engineering element of a Substation Standards Focus Team which also includes Electrical and Mechanical engineering talent.
Please note the following requirements for applicant consideration:
- 5-10 years of experience in Substation Structural Engineering or related structural design field
- Knowledge of Substation Structural design requirements and standards (ASCE 7, ASCE 113, IBC, etc.)
- CAD Experience - MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
- BSCE degree from an accredited college or university
- It is preferred that the applicant has successfully completed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) examination, with plans to complete the Professional Engineering registration.
The following general requirements are also expected:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Team Player: Works well as a member of a team.
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Occasional travel
- Ability to interpret written/documented specifications and apply them to engineering design.
This opportunity is for a hybrid work environment (home and office) and requires residing in the Knoxville, TN area.Qualified candidates located in the Raleigh/Durham, NC area, or Richmond, VA area should also apply.
