Job Title: Controller Part Time Reports To: Owner
Controller Part Time Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our commercial real estate team. Our client is a local, growing, and progressive group with a personalized and modern central office that fosters collaboration and innovation. As the Controller, you will oversee all financial operations and reporting for the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and fiscal health. Reporting directly to the Owner, you will play a crucial role in shaping and maintaining the company’s financial strategy while managing day-to-day accounting functions.
Controller Part Time Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Analyze financial results, provide insights, and present findings to the Owner.
Develop forecasts, budgets, and financial models to support business planning.
Accounting Operations:
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant financial regulations.
Maintain and optimize accounting systems and processes for efficiency.
Cash Flow and Budget Management:
Monitor cash flow and ensure sufficient liquidity to meet operating needs.
Develop and manage budgets aligned with company goals and objectives.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure timely filing of tax returns and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Identify and mitigate financial risks while ensuring robust internal controls.
Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and oversee accounting staff, fostering professional growth and a collaborative work environment.
Special Projects:
Support due diligence and financial analysis for real estate transactions, acquisitions, and investments.
Collaborate with the Owner on strategic planning and growth initiatives.
Controller Part Time Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/management role.
Experience in commercial real estate or a related industry is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax compliance for real estate operations.
Advanced proficiency in accounting software and financial modeling tools.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
