Overview
The Director of Web Development Services at NYU Stern will serve as the technical lead for the development and day-to-day technical management of both the school's public-facing website and its internal intranet portal. Serve as a key technical lead, working in close partnership with Public Affairs (PA) to ensure that the school's digital presence aligns with its institutional goals. Provide technical leadership while maintaining PA’s responsibility for prioritizing public website enhancements, maintenance of work, and critical issues, ensuring a seamless and innovative digital experience for all stakeholders. Drive the continual improvement of web functionality, usability, and security while ensuring that the platforms meet the evolving needs of the Stern community.
Responsibilities
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related field.
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related field.
Required Experience:
7+ years experience in web development, including strong expertise in Drupal or similar content management system and experience with hands-on development, customization, and maintenance of websites, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include demonstrated experience overseeing web development teams and managing complex, large-scale web projects from concept to deployment.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proficiency in front-end and back-end development technologies, including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL. Solid understanding of web architecture, content management systems, and site optimization techniques. Experience with web analytics, performance monitoring, and SEO best practices. Knowledge of web security protocols and data protection standards. Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and development frameworks like Twig.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $130,000.00 to USD $170,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
