Job Description

Ultimate Staffing is assisting our industry-leading client in Syracuse in hiring a Human Resource Records Assistant for a temporary assignment expected to last approximately 4 months. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic HR environment. Pay is $18-$22 per hour, depending on experience.

Position Overview:

As a Human Resource Records Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records and supporting overall HR operations. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and knowledge of HR processes will help ensure compliance with legal requirements and contribute to the HR department's efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Employee Records: Create and update electronic and physical employee files, including personal information, employment contracts, benefits, performance evaluations, and disciplinary records.
  • Record Retention Compliance: Manage records in accordance with legal and company policies. Organize filing systems and oversee record retrieval and disposal processes as needed.
  • Data Entry and Reporting: Accurately input data into the HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and generate reports for analysis and management use.
  • Compliance Support: Stay informed on employment laws and assist with HR audits to ensure record accuracy and legal compliance.
  • Confidentiality: Protect sensitive employee data, adhering to privacy laws and internal policies at all times.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and precision in record-keeping and data entry.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain an orderly system.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with employees and HR team members.
  • Technological Proficiency: Experience with HRIS or similar databases; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to review and interpret data and generate useful reports.
  • Education and Experience:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in HR or related field preferred.
    • Previous HR administration or records management experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of HR policies, employment regulations, and confidentiality requirements.

Schedule - Monday- Friday 9am-5pm

Pay rate - 18-22hr
