We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Medical Secretary in the Healthcare/NHS industry, based in Palm Springs, California. The selected candidate will be part of our medical records department, assisting in the processing and management of patient records for both inpatient and outpatient services.

Responsibilities:
• Assist in the processing and completion of inpatient and outpatient medical records.
• Handle medical reports transcription efficiently.
• Execute accurate coding of medical records.
• Maintain and file medical records in accordance with medicolegal standards.
• Manage the handling of patient records in adherence to Patient Health Information standards.
• Answer inbound calls and direct them to the appropriate personnel when necessary.
• Process authorizations and perform billing functions as required.
• Maintain and update patient charts and inpatient records.
• Be available to work varied shifts, including weekdays and weekends.• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Secretary or in a similar role within the healthcare sector
• Proficiency in answering inbound calls and directing them to the appropriate personnel
• Ability to handle authorizations and billing functions with accuracy and efficiency
• Experience in managing patient charts, inpatient records, and patient records
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills for managing multiple tasks and deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail
• Experience with medical terminology, procedures, and protocols
• Proficiency in using healthcare software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients, medical professionals, and staff
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• High school diploma or equivalent, further training in Medical Administration is a plus.
