Talent Source is seeking former Navy Machinist Mates and Enginemen to bring their mechanical expertise and hands-on shipboard experience to the San Diego shipyards . This is a great opportunity for veterans transitioning to civilian careers who want to continue working in a maritime environment, using the skills they’ve already developed.

You’ll be supporting ship repair, maintenance, and overhaul operations, contributing to the readiness of U.S. Navy vessels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical shipboard systems
• Overhaul and align pumps, valves, engines, and auxiliary equipment
• Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
• Use hand and power tools to inspect, repair, and test machinery
• Operate and maintain piping systems, fuel and oil systems, and HVAC-related equipment
• Troubleshoot shipboard mechanical issues and recommend solutions
• Follow all safety and quality standards in accordance with shipyard procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

• Honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy as a Machinist Mate (MM) or Engineman (EN)
• 4+ years of experience working on mechanical ship systems
• Experience with shipyard or industrial repair (civilian or military)
• Strong understanding of mechanical theory and troubleshooting
• Must be able to pass background check for base access (DoD installations)
• Able to work in confined spaces, aboard ships, and in physically demanding environments
