• Develop, implement and evaluate health education program targeted towards school, community, and/or selected groups
• Assess community needs and priorities through analysis of program results, client records, journal, and other community resources
• Provide one-on-one counseling to patients on health topics to promote behavior change
• Plan, organize, implement health education workshops and trivia for adults, adolescents, and children. Topics include, but are not limited to diabetes, heart disease, sexual health, stress, alcohol and tobacco, nutrition, fitness and exercise, self -esteem, and healthy relationships
• Conduct workshops off-site, as needed
• Research current health issues to enhance programs and educational materials
• Prepare and disseminate educational materials including brochures, and flyers for satellite sites, community programs, summer/ afterschool programs, and for the community. Update educational materials as needed
• Gather statistical data and create reports as needed using word and excel
• Keep abreast of current issues related to Health Education through professional publications, and research
• Assume responsibility for professional development and job-related competency.
• Attend in-service trainings and meetings as required by TFH; may serve on various committees as needed
• Oversee health educators on day-to-day clinic activities: one-on-ones, trivia, classes, donation giveaways
• Train new health educators on ECW and day-to-day activities
• Act as a resource to health educators and TFH staff on issues regarding the Health Education department
• Attendance and participation in the annual Camp Rise Up program; specific duties will be assigned by Supervisor
• Perform other duties as assigned

The Senior Health Educator will participate as a member of a group of professionals, dedicated to delivering comprehensive, holistic health education services to at-risk children, adolescents and the community.

Bachelor’s Degree or higher education, experience conducting health education programming for children, adolescent, and adults in various settings. Excellent computer skills utilizing word, power point, excel, and are proficient in internet research. Have the ability to provide health education presentation to various groups and community organizations. Possess group facilitation and group dynamic skills. Possess excellent written, oral communication, and strong public speaking skills, bilingual preferably. Possess organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills. Strong reporting and analytical background and the ability to multi-task, while working well in a team-oriented environment.
