Key Responsibilities •Assists the ED director to maintain operational aspects of the Emergency Department.
•Under administrative direction, assesses plans and evaluates delivery of patient care.
•Direct, and evaluate nursing functions and activities of the ED.
•Evaluates action plans and provides input to director to help ensure that nursing practice continually improves and impacts positively on patient outcomes.
•Demonstrates ability to support staff with problem solving and decision making.
•Ensures daily equipment checks, monitors use of Pixus. Resolves Pixus discrepancies timely.
•Employee satisfaction - directs, evaluates and supervises activities to improve staff satisfaction and engagement.
•In conjunction with ED team interviews potential employees for ED.
•Provides feedback to Director on employee performance appraisals.
•Participates in orientation of new staff members, assists with evaluation of their progress.
•Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and KHI policies
•Assists with performance improvement process and regulatory/accreditation agency compliance.
•Clinical practice planning and implementation.
•Participate in quality management activities, conduct regular chart reviews.
•Daily patient rounds.
•Respond to physician requests in a timely manner.
•Ensures timely follow up with patients related to lab values and imaging reports.
•Ensures quality patient care by monitoring by observation and nursing documentation review
•Mentors team in quality improvement processes.
•Identify, resolve and report opportunities to improve patient care.
•Maintain unit dashboard.
•Identifies opportunities for improvement in services. Implements and document activities.
Qualifications Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Certifications: •BLS, ACLS, PALS through the American Heart Association, and TNCC
•De-escalation Techniques course required within 3 months of hire
•
Licensure: AZ RN
Experience: Three (3) years' experience as a Registered Nurse required in Emergency Department
Preferences •CEN and CCRN preferred
•Experience in leadership preferred
Special Position Requirements •Exposure Category III
Work Requirements •Able to assist with the movement of an adult patient weighing up to 300 lbs.
•Able to care for patients with infectious diseases.
•Ability to sit for 3-5 hours per day.
•Able to stand for 3-5 hours per day.
•Ability to walk for 3-5 hours day.
